Samples Of School Motivators

LE MONOCLE RIT JAUNE (Lautner)

film that always a blast, lol!
The sequence (a little less) of very giant
Eye of the Monocle (1962), the same author Georges Lautner and dated 1964, just a year after the famous Les Tontons Flingueurs (1963), in a very nice combination spy + humor .. .
The beginning is admittedly very simple ... The French intelligence chief shows the actor Paul Meurisse (Colonel Dromard) degradation coming from the world of Asian :

With just this very ironic response from him to his question "What do you think? ":" Hum ... Bad run!

With any other actor, as saying that this achievement could have been on the whole "botched home failed" (no kidding) ... But Paul Meurisse being someone something so special, with a very strange approach, a mindset completely amazing, and at the same time, an almost eighteenth century to behave towards other people, to whom he still feels superior to anything else to say that this film still works 200% (at least in my own personal opinion), more than forty years after its creation!

bad (for the blog) that the dialogues may not display subtitles in French, so I'll have to read you some, including this one (the twelfth degree, as usual from Paul Meurisse), the great actor Robert Dalban :
- Mr Chick, this land is China, eternal ... Feel the scent of Alyzée that bring you the sweet scents of the Middle Kingdom? Do you hear the tintinabulement porcelains of the period? In the Palace green, where The Mandarins let time elapse quiet, along with passive concubines??

Casually, the vast majority of the film was shot in Hong Kong and Macao "for real", so that many plans are proving very beautiful (if you agree):

Apart Paul Meurisse and Robert Dalban four main actors involved in this film ... First, Edward Meeks (Major Sydney, the "chief" of English Hong Kong ):

Barbara Steele (Valerie, a "spy" on all sides):

A Chinese player not named, but who plays roughly role responsible for most of all murders:

The first is that of a French spy, Bergourian, just leaving the boat:

Fourth actor (rather bad enough, it must be said), Olivier Despax playing the role of Frederick, son of so very rich, very very stupid and stashed the head of the French Ministry of the Exterior:

That both are already at the outset for a sort of idiot, it is hinted at once:

Another awesome dialogues the film, when Frederick began to say: "But, we are not at war with the English, as I know"?

And Paul Meurisse , being replicated, with one of his derisive attitude and always completely crazy (and inescapable cigar): "It is always good, young man ... To be at war with the English!

Several things to come in the film quite funny ... Firstly, the arrival of the French in the home of Jewish origin Elie Mayerfitsky ( Marcel Dalio), "addicted" permanently to the famous song "I'll go see my Normandy"

The scene where Paul Meurisse , to learn, gets great pleasure to "smoke the opioume "(as he says proudly, incomprehensible today, where the Government has failed even in the subway recently banned a poster of Serge Gainsbourg smoking a cigarette absolute as well as me, lol! )

Scene who after many explosions, eventually by ending in the office of Major Sidney with a typical form of absolute indifference:

With then, at night, first night back around a friendly "Mongolian fondue" in a restaurant, during which the little gourmet Robert Dalban will not stop bitching constantly saying (just as in the previous movie quote Eye of the Monocle ): "Well ... Still there is no red wine or steak, or fried!

Not to mention that another quote, purely dress, a very famous American actor of the time ( Humphrey Bogart, of course!):

Other famous passage where Paul Meurisse goes to Macao in the company of very incompetent servant Frederick of France

Just before discovering the body at the only person who could easily help from the beginning:

Excellent quote, begun by the great "virtuoso"
- I was not mistaken, it was visited before ours ...
- Is she dead?
- Um, no ... She waits until it bites!

Another beautiful scene at the foot of the famous church of Portuguese Macao , Sao Domingo :

At the foot of which a large number Chinese are down by these same two actors:

to Quit then this Paul Meurisse , after teaching the use of a very young gun "pupil", scours the extent of the carnage by mutual accounts, just for fun ("Well, no Let's not be petty, I leave you ... That is, ten to three! "):

then visit alone in one of the oldest temples in Macau where Paul Meurisse finally going through the old monk discover all new tracks:

During Marcel Dalio as and Robert Dalban "come off" in their kitchen, preparing a famous Coq au Vin :

scene that ready at a very famous quote of Tonton Flingueurs 1963, when Paul Meurisse made a tiny appearance towards the end, even here the barely glimpsed Lino Ventura , main actor in this well-known previous film:

And now, at the table ... "You are two mother hens, for me ... Thank you, Chick!" :

Without saying too much (what, all things considered, the plot is hardly the main driver of this endless comedy), dinner again "explosive", followed by an interview in Sauna with Major Sydney, with new dialogue in the twelfth grade:
- You see, Major, the more I see the Chinese, the more I tell myself ... My God, they are French ...
- It's love?
- No. This is propaganda!

Once again a great meal full of charm (and charmers), at the seaside:

which the attack (again without putting them in the slightest danger) will give rise to once a rare choreography

Once again carried by all Chinese spies:

Perhaps, by Georges Lautner of in honor of some favorite American films such scenes?

Anyway, one of the funniest sequences in the film come from the fact that three French, having lost their wireless microphone, resign themselves to contact Major Sydney singing J ' will go see my Normandy live before the audience of the Beijing Opera , voiced and heard throughout the city, scene itself properly indescribable

Normally, the situation be a musician "like me" makes me (perhaps unfortunately) often quite critical of some movies ... But here, the fact that none of these three actors is actually singer makes the mix even more screaming with laughter, based on their mutual errors of accuracy and rhythm, lol!

As for the final scene (modeled on some plans Monocle's Eye, based on the surprising mixture between air totally contemptuous Paul Meurisse and his citation of open religious texts Bossuet), both say it is one of the best film:

With the wife of the deceased whose false bomb will be diverted at the last moment (enjoy -en, As the link YouTube will still deigning to walk):

The actress in question is actually proving to be the true mother of Georges Lautner , Ms. Renée St Cyr (who lived nearly a hundred years old, born in 1907 and died in 2004!):

ultimate plan before the end credits, with the issue of "Official "hosting Paul Meurisse finally back to Orly :
- My dear Dromard (...), but tell me, stay in the Far East you were not too strong?
- Absolutely not (lol)!

tell what else about this movie, story suitably finished my first article in 2010?
course, could once again say that this is very much a "spoiler", but hey, whatever ... The intrigue of espionage actually proves especially a vague pretext for extremist relationship between mind very special Paul Meurisse and reactions rather "Basic" of his various collaborators, while good, regardless of knowing in advance what will happen, the remaining text also still awesome, as in previous films Georges Lautner : this does remove you ever want to review all 10, 20 or 50 times, lol!
By cons, something we often speak little sadly, it's high quality music "jazz" from the film, due to the time the famous Michel Magne (probably from the same family as Magne Andre the largest importer in France of the most sublime pianos in the world, Bösendorfer ), composer of great film music, as well as numerous pieces of Henri Salvador , yet tragically died after a horrific suicide (sniff) ...
So good, provided that this is no longer the case of someone in the future ...

Very Happy New Year to all (very few) readers of this blog!

PS "just for fun": I just noticed that Georges Lautner was born exactly on the same day as me (January 24, but not in the same year, eh), then perhaps Is it for this that I love both her accomplishments? LOL!

Coming soon: a more complex analysis of the beautiful film The Village of Night Shyamalan (which I already threw 36 photos in a "secret link", without the text, lol!) ... And certainly also about the very old book The Music Room of Satyajit Ray I just received (1958, the absolute masterpiece about my favorite subject) ... But still a little (lot) of patience, please!
